The Grange Dental Care Millennium Cup and Shield “Boys’ Gaelic Football 7-a-side”competition took place recently at St Conor’s PS Omagh.
Six Primary schools from in and around the Omagh area entered teams which produced a tremendously high level of skill and ability from all involved.
The format of the day’s play was based on two sections (1 & 2) of four teams.
Section ‘1’ had St Conor’s PS Omagh “A”, Christ The King , Sacred Heart Tattyreagh and Holy Family “B”. Section ‘2’ consisted of Holy Family “A”, St Lawrence’s PS Fintona, All Saints’ PS Tattysallagh and St Conor’s “B”.
After a morning of ‘round robin’ matches within each section and a series of semi finals, Holy Family “A” and St Conor’s “A” qualified for the Millennium Cup Final. Christ The King and All Saints’ Tattysallagh qualified for the Grange Dental Care Shield Final. In the Shield final Christ The King emerged victorious against a gallant All Saints’ Tattysallagh. Later in a thrilling Millennium Cup final, a determined St Conor’s “A” defeated a courageous Holy Family “A”.
