Flahavan's N.I Primary Schools' Cross Country Championships.
Twenty Two pupils from Saint Conor's Primary School competed in the 2nd round of the Flahavan's Cross Country event, held at Ballygawley Playing Fields on Wednesday 6th December.
The 1200m course was tough with rough conditions under foot, but thankfully there were no hills to run up. Hooray! A huge effort was made by all the children to complete the course. Congratulations to Emma Mc Crossan, who ran a fantastic race in the girls' event. Emma finished in first place!! Special mention goes to Jenna Mullin and Ciara Mc Ginn who finished in the top ten placings, in what was a packed and highly competitive race. The combined score for the girls' team earned St. Conor's first place overall. Well done girls!!
Well done to Fionn Collins who finished in 7th place in the boy's race. Mike Sharkey was second home for the boys in 8th position overall. Adrian Sheridan and Carraig Mc kenna finished in the top twenty also.
Congratulations to Tiernan Kelly who had a fantastic sprint finish to claim the number one spot in the Fun Run. Hot on his heels was Turlough Collins who finished third and Rory Dolan in fourth.Well done to everyone else who took part in the fun run event. Conor Gormley, Cillian Mc Crory and Frankie Monk also finished in the top ten.
