🌟 Children in Need 2024 🌟
Today, the children in St. Conor’s celebrated 'Children in Need Day' 2024.
The children came into school wearing a piece of yellow clothing and/or something spotty and were so kind to make a donation to the charity.
Our P7 pupils put on a heartwarming assembly to mark Children in Need. The theme of the assembly was “Needs and Wants,” where the children explored the differences between the two and learned how Children in Need supports children whose needs are not being met.
The assembly concluded with a lovely performance of the song “Lean on Me,” a fitting tribute to the spirit of support and community that Children in Need represents. To the delight of everyone, Pudsey made a surprise guest appearance, thanking the children for their generosity and kindness.
Here’s what one of our P7 pupils had to say about the assembly: “It was amazing to see how we can make a difference. Performing ‘Lean on Me’ was my favourite part because it really showed how we can support each other".
Pudsey Bear Competition
The whole school took part in a Pudsey Bear Competition too! Our children recently wrote about what “lending a helping hand” means to them. The Student Council judged their amazing contributions and each of the winners was presented with a bespoke Pudsey Bear - knitted by our beloved Patrol Lady, Sadie Mulligan (R.I.P). A special word of thanks to the Drumquin Knitting Group for adding the finishing touches to the bears.
We’re proud of our school community for coming together to support such a worthwhile cause!
