1st Jun 2017

On Wednesday 17th May 2017,Aaron McGee (Year 7GC) went to Danescroft in Lisburn to represent Omagh Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) in the regional championships.  Aaron rode on ‘Paddy,’ a lovely black and white horse and competed in two events.

Aaron first completed in the Dressage competition in the outdoor arena and was awarded first place in his category.  He then competed in the Countryside challenge and was awarded second place here.

Aaron achieved the highest overall points within the competition and was awarded a silver platter alongside the title ‘Runner-Up, Junior Rider of the Year.’  He returned home with several rosettes for Paddy!

Aaron has now qualified to attend the RDA National Championships which will take place in Hartpury, England from 14th – 16th July.  This is a flagship event bringing together hundreds of competitors of all abilities in various show jumping competitions.  We wish Aaron the best of luck for this competition!

Aaron proudly wore his St. Conor’s tie to represent his school throughout the competition!  We are very proud of Aaron and all that he has achieved!!  Well done Aaron and keep it up!
